Rock ‘n’ Roll Half Marathon + Marathon returns to San Diego this Sunday with a brand new course that runs right through our neighborhood, so runners can Explore North Park while chasing that PR! The runners are off to the races by starting down University Avenue before the distances split up. Half marathoners will loop around Normal Heights while those aiming for that full 26.2 will go through Old Town, Mission Bay, Mission Hills and Hillcrest, a brilliant tour through America’s Finest City. The routes converge again through North Park, take the runners through Balboa Park before finishing in the Gaslamp Quarter.
Since the course runs right through North Park, it felt only right that we celebrate! Ritual Tavern is the OFFICIAL North Park cheering destination, so you can be part of all the contagiously energetic action without actually having to run! The eatery opens its doors at 6am and offers 10% off brunch before 11am. Enjoy delicious breakfast classics and a wide range of craft beer in their charming garden while cheering on all the runners heading down 30th street from their outdoor garden seating.
The deals aren’t just limited to the Rock ‘n’ Roll cheerleaders. Runners, Ritual Tavern is the best brunch spot to recover after that tiresome 13.1 or 26.2. What better way to celebrate than with a medal around your neck, a mimosa in one hand and a plate of “Brazen Bennys” in front of you? This benedict with poached eggs, slow-cooked pork shoulder or beef brisket, braised greens, homemade hollandaise, potato gallette and side-toasted ciabatta will make EVERY mile you ran worth it! Other brunch standouts from their menu includes Bay Scallops and Cheesy Grits and the classic Ritual ‘English’ Breakfast. Even better, runners enjoy 25% off their individual tab!
Ritual Tavern is your home base for all North Park Rock n Roll festivities, whether you’re running it yourself, supporting a loved one or just encouraging the community!
