SHOPPING AT THE NORTH PARK THURSDAY MARKET GIVES YOU ACCESS TO SOME OF THE BEST PRODUCTS IN SAN DIEGO WHILE IN A FUN, LIVELY ENVIRONMENT.
With the launch of the new North Park Thursday Market, the expanded weekly farmers’ market is now located in the heart of the neighborhood at 30th Street and North Park Way. Filling four city blocks, the year-round event fills 100 tents with local farmers, artisan food producers, multi-ethnic dining offerings, artists and crafters.
No need to shop hungry: the market features a world of foods ready to enjoy, from Ibo’s Turkish Grill, 500F Gogi Korean food, Gourmet Tamales, pizza, poke, and panini’s, and North Park’s only Indian food from Masala Cottage. Nearby, local restaurants including West Coast Tavern, Waypoint Public, Urban Solace and Ritual Tavern celebrate with specials based on market ingredients. Weekly demos feature chefs from Cardamom Cafe & Bakery, Saiko Sushi, California’s Table, Tiger! Tiger! and more teaching shoppers to use the farmers’ bounty.
New later hours mean more community members and local chefs rely on the market for their weekly grocery shopping needs. Farmers offer fresh berries, sweet stone fruit, local citrus, leafy greens, crisp broccoli, squash and gorgeous flowers. Meats, cheese, and eggs come from local ranchers; uni, oysters and swordfish from San Diego fishermen. Dark Horse roasts their coffee near the market, and Bread Barn bakes nearby. Earth Equals uses the farmers’ seasonal fruit and greens for their smoothies, Farm to Fork does the same for their salads and juices and Witt’s Pickles feature locally grown cucumbers, beans and beets.
