Football in North Park

The NFL regular season is upon us, and it’s time to plan out your go-to spot for Sunday football! North Park is home to a variety of bars all willing to take your Sunday Funday up a notch. The great thing about all of these bars? Perfect walking distance from each other to switch it up during half time!

True North Tavern
When you think of a local sports bar, you can’t help but have True North Tavern pop up in your mind. Earning the title of “Best Sports Bar” by the California Restaurant Association, you’ll know exactly why when you take one step inside the door. For the football season, True North opens at 9am so everyone can grab their spot front row before the action begins.

Enjoy their brunch menu with a $20 bottle of champagne to really get the Sunday Funday party started. The perfect morning combo to enjoy with the early morning football games. Also known for their variety of tater tot plates, take your pick between BBQ chicken or buffalo to pair with a pint of beer. Boasting over 10 TV’s around the bar, True North Tavern is a North Park hot spot for everything sports related!

West Coast Tavern
With a big screen project on an entire wall and happy hour everyday of the week, West Coast Tavern is a great option to watch NFL football, all season long. Their happy hour includes $4 wells, drafts, house wine, $6 appetizers and $6 specialty cocktails, everyday from 4-6pm. There’s no better way to pre-game the Thursday and Monday night football games! West Coast Tavern is also located right next to the Observatory, so there is no shortage of entertainment. They host weekly DJ’s on the weekends, and have started bringing the funk to North Park with Soul Club Sundays. No better option for a victory party than with drinks and dancing!

The Office
One of North Park’s oldest and most beloved bars offers an amazing half-off any drink during happy hour, everyday of the week! Catch the Thursday, Sunday and Monday night football games with the locals at the Office Bar.

Safehouse
Switch it up from the usual burgers and wings, and experience Izakaya inspired eats at Safehouse in North Park. Home to beers, buns and ramen, their menu offers a unique dining experience not to be missed. Offering a variety of Nintendo 64 games, Safehouse is the perfect option for those watching the game, while playing a game.

Hours: Tues-Thurs 4:30pm to 12am / Fri 4:30pm to 2am / Sat 12pm to 2am / Sun 12 to 11pm

Bluefoot
The perfect spot to watch any games, Bluefoot is conveniently located in between North and South Park. With 10 TV’s, you won’t miss any football action on Sundays. Bluefoot also offers a convenient weekend happy hour, with $1 off liquor from open to 7:30pm. A local favorite, Bluefoot is home to great eats and drinks, friendly staff and enthusiastic patrons committed to football!
