Date Night at West Coast Tavern

Being newlyweds my husband Rick and I make it a priority to have regular date nights. With our extremely busy schedules it’s important to pause, disconnect from work, and reconnect with each other. We are obsessed with delicious comfort food and finding new places to explore, which is why we always choose a new restaurant in a different part of town to try. For this particular date night, I wore a long velvet dress from Rae Boutique, Rick in jeans and a cashmere sweater, and headed to North Park to get drinks and dinner at West Coast Tavern. I love it here!  The atmosphere is dark yet inviting and is also inside one of North Park’s most historic buildings which add to the cool vibe of this place. We were greeted by the hostess and made our way to the bar where we ordered the Chupacabra, a spicy take on the margarita and a Drink First, Ask Questions Later, a vodka drink infused with strong citrus…yum! If you like strong drinks West Coast Tavern has you covered.

After sipping on our cocktails we made our way out to the patio, ordered the Charcuterie Cheese Board and laughed till the sun went down. If there’s one thing you need in any relationship, its laughter – and we certainly know how to make each other laugh, it’s what won me over for sure!  We ordered a few more dishes to share, a couple more cocktails and then finished the night by walking hand in hand down University Ave. to enjoy the crisp fall air. Date Night perfection for sure. I know we typically choose new places to try, but we’ll definitely be back to West Coast Tavern for another date night.
