Many North Park brunch spots offer fantastic drink deals, delicious Instagram worthy meals and excellent company. Find some of the neighborhood’s favorite brunch hangs below!

West Coast Tavern

For all of the meat lovers out there, West Coast Tavern’s brunch is the place for you. They offer a variety of hearty skillets, such as the Cheddar Bratwurst, a staff favorite. Another great option is the award-winning Pork Belly and Waffles, with a delicious bourbon infused syrup. Make it a perfect pairing with $20 mule pitchers.

One of the most talked about elements of the West Coast Tavern brunch is the build your own Bloody Mary bar. For all of you secret mixologists out there, this is the perfect stop. Visit the brunch bar and enjoy an assortment of ingredients, such as olives and bacon. The best part about the Bloody Mary bar is the freedom to make your drink as creative and crazy as you want!

Waypoint Public

Waypoint Public is a popular craft brewery in North Park, specializing in beer infused classic brunch cocktails. Brunch + Beer lovers rejoice! Waypoint has a great “beermosa” option, that pairs a wheat beer with orange juice. There is also the bloody beer, which pairs bloody mary mix with an IPA. If you’re not a fan of those options, they also have a specialized list of breakfast beers that go perfectly with any of the meal options.

As for the brunch menu, brunch lovers can enjoy a large selection of scrambles, benedicts, and burgers. The benedicts offer a great variety of salmon, avocado and pork belly for every type of flavor palette. Waypoint also offers great Mexican inspired dishes, such as the chilaquiles or tamales & eggs. Great for anyone who loves their hot sauce!

One of the great perks about Waypoint Public is their kid-friendly environment. Waypoint goes above and beyond by providing a kids’ play area complete with games and movies. It’s the perfect place for parents who want to unwind with no babysitter on call.

The Mission

Are you a fan of black beans or salsa with breakfast? If so, this place is for you! The Mission has a specialized section of their menu named “Latino Breakfast Plates” that do not disappoint. A favorite is the Mission Chilaquiles, which include a roasted tomato ginger sauce that is to die for. Another popular option is the Desayuno Burrito, which is packed with potatoes, beans, eggs, and scallions. The Mission is perfect for San Diego visitors, because it is a known fact that you have to try a breakfast burrito when visiting San Diego.

Make sure you get there early, because The Mission can get pretty full for brunch on the weekends, as it is one of the most popular spots in North Park… but it’s well worth it!

Swami’s Cafe

If you’re looking for a more casual brunch spot, Swami’s Cafe is your spot. Guests take care of ordering at the front counter, then have their choice of seating. With a large selection of brunch selections at Swami’s, you can enjoy anything from sandwiches to omelettes, and their beverage selection is plentiful, with a large selection of smoothies, juices, and coffees. One of the more popular items on the menu is their acai bowls, which have become an extremely popular treat in recent months. And for the health nuts out there, they even offer wheatgrass shots!

Cardamom Cafe and Bakery

Cardamom is a great option for a relaxing and quaint brunch. With a very inviting and homey environment, Cardamom offers breakfast all day long. One of their breakfast favorites is The Queen’s Quiche, which is housemade with crumbled bacon, sliced tomato, and asiago cheese. Served with their always delicious Rosemary potatoes, this is a meal fit for a Queen (or King!).

The pastries are one of the most popular options at Cardamom. All of their breads and pastries are baked fresh daily, and the taste proves it. They have everything from black forest turkey and jalapenos pastries, to Belgian double chocolate croissants. The pastries are baked warm and flakey to perfection and do not disappoint! For those that have a hard time navigating the busy North Park food scene, this is a perfect option.
